Heritage Schools Award: Application Terms and Conditions
These terms set out the basis on which you may submit an Application for a Heritage Schools Award. Please read these terms carefully.
Words used in these Terms and Conditions
In these Application Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
Application means registration and submission of evidence to meet the criteria to achieve a Heritage Schools Award.
Evidence means the text, files document, images, video links etc submitted to meet the criteria to achieve a Heritage Schools Award.
Heritage Schools Award Criteria means the criteria that the applicant must meet in order to achieve the Heritage Schools Award.
Heritage Schools Award means the award made to the applicant once they have submitted the evidence required to meet the Heritage School Award criteria as defined above and set out in the Application process.
Hub means the Hub website – The Heritage Schools Award Hub heritageawardhub.co.uk
Privacy Policy means the privacy policy set out at https://historicengland.org.uk/terms/privacy/
Registration means the Heritage Schools Award Hub Account and the Heritage Schools Award registration processes that you must complete to upload your evidence in your Application.
Showcase means a section of the Heritage Schools Award Hub where examples of evidence from Applications may be displayed to highlight good practice and inspire other teachers/schools.
Terms means the terms and conditions set out in this document.
Username the unique identifier assigned to you upon Registration on the Heritage Schools Award Hub
“We”, “us” or “our” means Historic England, The Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England whose principal office is at 4th Floor, Cannon Bridge House, 25 Dowgate Hill, London EC4R 2YA
Terms and Conditions
These Terms set out the basis and process for submitting your Application for a Heritage Schools Award. By completing the Registration process, you agree that your Application and Evidence will be subject to these Terms and that we will handle your personal data in accordance with the Historic England Privacy Policy.
Photography
It is your responsibility to ensure that any photographs or videos submitted as part of your Application have been taken with the written consent of anyone who is identifiable from a photograph.
You must obtain the consent of any identifiable individual (or parent / guardian if the individual is under 18) to their image being used in connection with your Application and you must advise them that their photograph may be published in the Showcase section on the Hub in accordance with these Terms.
Images submitted within your Contribution must comply with the Application Criteria provided on the heritageawardhub.co.uk.
Ownership of your Application
You confirm that your Application is made by you on behalf of the school your work for.
We reserve the right to use the Evidence you submit in your Application and publish it in the Showcase or on the Historic England website, in our education resources, or on Historic England social media as examples and of good practice and excellent teaching.
We reserve the right to edit, crop, adjust or add our logo responsibly and fairly to your Evidence (at our sole direction) without notifying you and you agree to waive all rights to object to such actions undertaken by us in respect of your Application and the publication of your evidence in the Showcase section of the Hub.
You (or the copyright owner) remain the owner of copyright in your Application but in addition to the paragraph above you agree that we may copy, modify, edit, reproduce, display, publish or otherwise make use of all or part of your Application on a royalty free basis.
Assessment of your Application
We will assess your Application against the Heritage Schools Award Criteria as defined above in section 1 and set out in the Application process.
We will contact you to inform you if your Application has been successful.
We will contact you if your Application has been unsuccessful and advise you of the additional information, evidence or amendments required to meet the criteria, and you will have the opportunity to resubmit your Application.
We aim to assess your Application within 2 weeks, but there may be instances where it could take longer.
Schools submitting successful Applications will receive a Heritage Schools Award certificate.
Privacy
We will only use personal information provided by you in connection with your Registration and Application. Please note that our privacy policy is set out in the Historic England Privacy Policy a copy of which is available at Historic England Privacy Policy | Historic England.
Freedom of information
You acknowledge that we are subject to the requirements of the Code of Practice on Government Information and the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). Further details of how to make a FOIA request of Historic England are available from our Access to Information pages.
Updates to these Terms
We reserve the right to change these Terms from time to time without prior notice by changing them on the Hub. The Terms applicable to the submission of your Application will be those in force at the time you submit your Application.
Additional terms
Nothing in these Terms and no action taken by us or you under these Terms shall create, or be deemed to create a partnership, joint venture or establish a relationship of principal and agent.
The Terms shall be governed by the law of England and Wales and the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
