Primary History and Sustainability
Webinar Summary
Primary History has huge potential to educate children about the planetary crisis. History offers a unique understanding of people’s relationship with the natural world over time and of how we arrived at our present predicament. This session, delivered by Dr Michael Riley, will share a range of light-touch and more profound changes you can make to your history curriculum to teach for a more sustainable future.
Michael is a lecturer in history education at the UCL Institute of Education. As part of his role, he works at UCL’s Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Education where he develops professional development materials for the Teaching for Sustainable Futures programme.
